Nina completed her degree in Occupational Therapy in Germany, and has been practicing as a Pediatric OT since 2002. She is passionate about supporting children of all ages to reach their full potential and work towards meaningful goals with a strong focus on strength based learning and evidence-based practice. Her approach revolves around empathy and collaboration, fostering safe spaces where children feel empowered to explore and thrive. She’s a firm believer in the power of play-based therapy, and creating strong partnerships with families and other professionals. Her practice has included working with children with a range of diagnosis, including but not limited to: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder, Anxiety, Sensory Processing Disorder, Developmental Coordination disorder, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and other genetic, neurological, and developmental conditions.

Lauren completed her Master of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta in 2018. Prior to completing her masters, Lauren worked as a Behavioural Interventionalist for children with ASD, which inspired her to pursue pediatric therapy. Lauren has continued to work in community pediatrics since graduation. Lauren enjoys working alongside children’s families to provide the best care possible.
Lauren has continued to take courses and webinars to further her knowledge and experience in pediatric physiotherapy. These courses and webinars include: Physiotherapy and ASD by Shelley Mannel; Dynamic Core for Kids and the Application to Babies by Shelley Mannel; Toe Walking by Liesa Prusaud; Dynamic Bracing with Cascade; Developmental Orthopedics by Beverly Cuisick, as well as many webinars on standing frames, theratogs and neuromuscular scoliosis.

Jody completed a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Neuroscience in 2006, and a Master of Physical Therapy in 2008 from the University of British Columbia. She founded We Play Kids in 2018. While living abroad with her young family, she was exposed to community resources she found highly valuable as a parent and a professional. Upon her return to British Columbia, she opened We Play Kids with the goal to create an inclusive space for children and families to enjoy, be connected, and be supported through growth and development. Jody’s passion as a Physiotherapist is helping children gain physical confidence to maximize participation in their environment and the activities they enjoy. She believes that Physiotherapy goals and other developmental support services should be fun, engaging, and integrated into daily life.
Jody has worked in public and private practice, and has a strong background in developmental pediatrics, orthopedic & musculoskeletal injuries, pelvic floor training, and sport injuries. She highly values her range of experience and how it has shaped her clinical reasoning and treatment approach. She has a keen interest in continuing education and appreciates the multitude of online training, webinars and research that are easily available to support best practice strategies for physiotherapy.
