Alex completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology and a Master of Occupational Therapy at the University of British Columbia. Throughout this training, she developed a strong foundation in child development and family-centred practice.
During her clinical placement, Alex gained valuable experience in a private pediatric clinic, where she supported children in developing fine and gross motor skills, sensory regulation, and printing abilities. She worked with children with a wide range of developmental needs, collaborating closely with families to tailor interventions to each child’s unique strengths, goals, and learning styles.
She also completed a placement in the NICU and pediatric unit at Royal Columbian Hospital, where she supported premature and medically complex infants in acquiring oral feeding skills and receiving neurodevelopmentally supportive care. This experience deepened her passion for early development and reinforced the importance of partnering with families through education, empowerment, and compassionate support.
Currently, Alex works part-time in the acute care setting at Royal Columbian Hospital, helping adults safely transition home following injury, illness, or surgery.

Helena holds a Bachelor of Science in Behavioural Neuroscience and a Master of Occupational Therapy, both from the University of British Columbia. Her path to becoming an Occupational Therapist was shaped by several years of experience supporting children and youth as a one-on-one support worker. She later worked as an employment consultant for adults with developmental disabilities, providing job coaching to help individuals find, adapt to, and maintain meaningful employment. These roles sparked her passion for empowering individuals to reach their full potential — a passion that naturally led her to a career in Occupational Therapy.
After completing her OT degree, Helena began her practice in acute care, supporting adults with a range of medical conditions in a hospital setting. She soon transitioned to pediatrics, where she grew passionate for helping children achieve their goals and thrive in everyday activities. Since moving into pediatric practice, Helena has completed specialized training in DIR Floortime, Autism Matters, Toilet Training Success Academy, and numerous interoception and sensory processing courses by Kelly Mahler and other leaders in the field.

Crystal has worked with individuals with Autism, ADHD and social complexities in the lower mainland since 2004. She received her Master’s Degree in Autism Studies at the University of Kent in Canterbury in 2012 focussing on social skills therapies in educational settings. She became a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) in 2013 after completing her Behaviour Analyst Certification Board coursework at Pennsylvania State University. She started practicing as a Behaviour Consultant (BCBA) and social group facilitator in 2013 in both in-home and in-clinic settings.
Crystal loves to work with individuals of all ages, believing that learning and skill acquisition are a continuous journey. She has extensive experience using Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) as a science and lens to create behaviour-based therapies and supports that will facilitate meaningful growth in the daily lives of her learners and their families. Katie Metz completed her Occupational Therapy Master of Science (MScOT) program at the University of Alberta. In her graduate work, she focused on the study of creative arts interventions to address social-emotional learning and mental health promotion for children and youth. During this time, she also volunteered teaching yoga to children and adults. Katie has also taken over 450 hours of yoga teacher training and taught hundreds kid’s yoga classes in the Surrey School District. Through studying and teaching yoga, she has realized the value of mindful activity in advancing children’s coping abilities and self-awareness.
During her OT degree, Katie completed fieldwork at the Alberta Children’s Hospital outpatient therapy services. It was here that she gained experience offering sensory and fine motor assessment and intervention. She came to deeply value both family-centered practice and taking a strengths-based approach to pediatric therapy.
In her current practice, Katie deeply values collaborating with families to identify strategies that can help children learn and grow in everyday life. Sharmaine holds a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Neuroscience from Simon Fraser University and a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of British Columbia. Sharmaine has always had a passion for helping children and families reach their goals, as she previously worked as an elementary and high school tutor and then as a behavioural interventionist in a kindergarten preparation program.
